Bastille Day on 14 July 2024

Every year on 14 july , the skies over France light up, with explosions of colour and music to delight the French as they celebrate the country's bank holidays. And sometimes, the festivities are extended: some towns organise their festivities on 13 July, so that the public can enjoy this great popular gathering even more.

Such is the case in the town of Issy-les-Moulineaux, located in the inner suburbs of Paris, in the Hauts-de-Seine department. Issy-les-Moulineaux is inviting us to its special evening, on the program : a light show and fireworks display in the Ile Saint-Germain departmental park , followed by a dance party on Place Madaule and at the fire brigade rescue centre. This year's event will have an Olympic flavour, with young and old alike expected from 8.30pm onwards.

From 9.15pm: Distribution of lanterns

Lanterns will be distributed free of charge, while stocks last, at the entrance to the Parc Départemental on avenue Jean Monnet.

9.45pm to 10.15pm: Torchlight procession

All Issé residents are invited to take part in this traditional procession, which leads young and old with their illuminated lanterns through the park.

10.30pm: ‘La Flamme’ fireworks display

It's a tradition that delights young and old alike. Entitled ‘La Flamme’ (The Flame), the pyrotechnic show linked to the Olympic and Paralympic Games is a creation that takes us on a journey through the various atmospheres surrounding sport. The soundtrack, based on the main themes of sport, has been chosen from a variety of repertoires to appeal to all generations and musical styles.

10pm to 1am: Musical entertainment

The Ambre 9 orchestra will be playing a repertoire ranging from waltz to variety to international music. Let yourself be carried away by the music, which is sure to make you want to do a few dance steps!

9pm to 3am: dance party

The Issy-les-Moulineaux Fire Brigade Centre (75, boulevard Gallieni) is organising its traditional Fire Brigade Ball, with DJ, tombola and refreshments in a festive atmosphere.
