SIMS 2024

La Société d’Imagerie Musculo-Squelettique (S.I.M.S.) is a French-speaking, multidisciplinary scientific society with around a thousand members, which organises an annual themed conference in Paris in June, attended by between 800 and 850 people of some fifteen nationalities.

This year, the 50th annual conference will be held under the chairmanship of u Dr Gérard Morvan. The conference will take place on 14 and 15 June 2024 at the Palais des Congrès in Issy les Moulineaux, and its theme will be "The FEET".

The aim of this congress is to guide you on this exciting journey, providing you with a detailed view of these complex joints and their surrounding structures. The sessions will cover 6 themes: The Forefoot, Tendon - retinacula & fascia, Ligaments of the ankle, Mechanical arthropathies of the ankle, The foot in all its states and The loaded foot, its relationship with the rest of the body.

SIMS is a global organisation dedicated to promoting high-quality medical research and practice. Its annual congress is one of the most important events in the field of specialised medicine, attracting participants from all over the world. The conference will focus on 6 original themes: Bone and its fundamentals, Bone in stress or trauma, Metabolic bone, Inflammatory and infectious bone, Tumour bone and Bone with a difference.

The programme will include a series of lectures, workshops and practical demonstrations. International experts will share their knowledge on a range of topics including foot pathologies, new treatment techniques and advances in preventive care.

The S.I.M.S also organises other ongoing activities outside the exhibition period, including an annual week devoted to musculoskeletal ultrasound (350 participants) and two ultrasound workshops in the provinces, one in March and the other in September.

Each year, Gel Contact publishes a bilingual ultrasound journal, and June Congress Book, a reference work published by Sauramps Medical. A copy of this book will be made available to the partners.

Finally, with the help of an industrial partner, SIMS has been distributing a teaching video on musculoskeletal ultrasound for a number of years, available at www.sims-asso.org.
