The Biltoki Halles : a friendly gourmet market
Discover Les Halles Biltolki: A Culinary and Cultural Journey in the Heart of the City
Biltoki means “the place that brings people together” in Basque. Indeed, after giving up their various careers, the 4 Basques Bixente, Jérôme, Romain and Xabi decided to set up a meaningful project. They decided to meet up with their favorite tradesmen and co-construct the Halles des 5 Cantons with them.
They were soon approached by several local authorities and partners. Today, Biltoki is present in 8 cities in France, where projects are underway, as well as internationally.
Created in 1884 to store steel beams for the Eiffel Tower, the Biltoki halls are now a place for tasting and sharing local products.
Located right next to Orange's new world headquarters, with a superb view over the Seine, the ambition is to recreate the village square where local workers and residents can shop and dine, from 20 artisans and traders ultra committed to their sector.
From Monday to Sunday, you'll be able to buy fresh, quality local produce. You can also sample 12 types of oysters on site, and enjoy a glass of wine, a locally brewed beer or an artisanal fruit juice.
